LASER CUTTING SPECIALISTS 2D SHEET AND 3D SHAPES

Laser Profiles from Sheet Metal

Dynamic Aerospace Fabrications offers flat bed sheet metal profiling of aerospace metals, including titanium, nimonics, Haynes and Jethete. With investment in 2022 in a Trulaser 3030 Fiber from Trumpf, Dynamic has significant laser cutting capacity.

NEW 2022:  Increased flatbed laser cutting capacity

Dynamic Aerospace Fabrications employs a Trumpf 6kW Fiber laser with a 3m x 1.5m bed for efficient processing of sheet metal and plate up to 20mm thick.  This investment has increased Dynamic’s 2D laser capacity significantly and opened up new market opportunities in the sheet metal fabrication sector.

Laser cutting capacity

Dynamic Aerospace Fabrications employs two 6-axis laser machines capable of trimming, piercing and drilling 3D formed shapes.  One of these cells is equipped with a sheet metal table where 2D shapes can be cut efficiently on a 3 metre x 1.5 metre bed.  Supplied with argon and nitrogen assist gasses, this cell is ideally suited to “clean cutting” aerospace grade materials, such as nimonics and titanium.

Laser cutting benefits

The benefits of laser cutting metal are its flexibility, economy and rapid turn round.

Laser profiling offers supreme flexibility, handling profiles from the simplest of components to shapes of almost limitless complexity – it is suitable for both pre-production samples and production batches.  This ability to laser cut complex profiles can eliminate the need for additional operations.

The narrow laser cut width, zero clamping strip and computer-assisted part nesting allows maximum material utilisation.  Coupled with short lead times and zero tooling costs, laser cutting is a highly attractive and economical means of profiling sheet metal and plate.

5-axis Laser Cutting

3D Laser Cutting

Dynamic Aerospace Fabrications have used multi-axis laser systems for over 10 years for laser trimming formed blanks and laser drilling holes in 3D shapes.  Possessing both fiber and CO2 laser sources, with argon and nitrogen assist gasses, Dynamic is equipped to deal with the most challenging components in aerospace materials from titanium to Jethete.
